Overview

Short version: Volume Equalizer does not collect, store, transmit, or sell any personal information. All audio processing happens locally in your browser. No servers, no accounts, no tracking.

What we collect

Nothing. Volume Equalizer does not collect, store, transmit, or sell any personal information, browsing data, audio content, or usage analytics. There are no servers, no accounts, no cookies, no tracking pixels.

How the extension works

Volume Equalizer processes audio entirely within your browser using the standard Web Audio API. Audio passes through a local processing chain — compressor, automatic gain control, 3-band equalizer, limiter — and is sent directly to your speakers. Audio is never uploaded, recorded, or transmitted anywhere.

Permissions explained

Third-party services

None. Volume Equalizer makes zero network requests. It does not use Google Analytics, Sentry, Mixpanel, or any other analytics or telemetry services. It does not load remote scripts, fonts, or resources.

DRM-protected content

On services like Netflix, Spotify Web Player, or Apple TV+, the browser blocks third-party access to encrypted audio streams. When this happens, Volume Equalizer silently passes through the original audio without modification. No data about which sites you visit or what you play is recorded.

Children's privacy

Volume Equalizer is not directed at children under 13. Since the extension does not collect any data, no specific compliance procedures are required.

Changes to this policy

If this policy ever changes, the updated version will be published at this URL with a new "Last updated" date. Material changes will be communicated through the extension's release notes on the Chrome Web Store.
